[Thursday] Manufacturing Product Changes

Building on the discussion of RI companies moving into the Radio business by making Radio parts. There was Crescent Braid going from making shoe laces to headphone cords and other radio wires. Then Apco Manufacturing branched our from early Ford car parts to radio battery charges, power supplies and small radio parts including a switchable two filament tube. Coto-Coil Company was a branch industry from Universal Winding which made textile winding machines. Then the owners of Brite-Lite lamp company owners started Triad Tube Company. Hope Webbing which branched into a product called Talking Tape, a fabric tape with small wires weaved into the fabric to be used an a radio antenna that could be hidden in the house. Martin Copland an eyeglass company that branched into a full line of radio parts and radios. Might be a good talk at the next Steam-Up!
