Ray Ortgiesen, a volunteer at the NEWSM, recently donated a large amount of amateur radio and test equipment. The donation included a Kenwood TS-850SAT transceiver. The TS-850 is a really nice transceiver and the NEWSM volunteers quickly added it to the operational equipment in the Massie PJ station.
Dave operated the Kenwood on August 19, 2023, one of the summer Saturday open days for the NEWSM. He was able to make contact with the Lightship Huron in Michigan with the Kenwood.
