Sam,
That seems like a great idea! By that time we should have thatroom all ready to use. You might want to work on at least oneat the museum so you can demonstrate your technique tothe other radio guys. We all can learn from each other.
Have you ever done work on any military radio equipment? We have some truly interesting radios that need to cometo life so they can be demonstrated. One example isthe Collins-made ART-13 Transmitter. This massive radiohas a fully motorized antenna tuning unit that isfascinating to watch as it makes a match between the rig and antenna. We have other military radios, some on display
and some in storage. Then there are all the portables,TRF’s, All American Fives, high end luxury sets fromthe ‘20’s and ‘30’s, and ham gear.

I'd like to try and get some of the sets at the museum going possibly over this summer sometime. I'm thinking of doing those Philco cathedrals in the repair room. They need some cabinet work, too, which would have to wait till the warmer weather.

If anyone wants a Crosley console there is one inNorwich, CT going for about $60. … the seller has had it up for so long I suspect she would take $50. I bought a nice FADA TRF from her forjust $20 .. it came with a full set of balloon tubes, a nice cabinet, andthe original connection instructions pinned to the inside ofthe cabinet.
A real treat would be to restore the Shirley Temple Grunow consolethat is under the stairs in PJ. That’s a really cool teledial styleradio. Shirley Temple was featured in all the ads. See the link for somegreat archival photos and ads.
