All,
Randy and I were at Kent on Sunday and spoke with Rider. He was at Kent due to the calendar conflict. He seems to be one of the primary engineers in their steam building (Industrial Hall).
We also saw and spoke with several others that would have most likely been at Steam Up if not for the calendar conflict.
Simple geography is that most people will go to the closest venue.
Now as to Kent if you haven't been you should go as long as it is on a non conflict year.
I have been involved with antique engines (steam and gas) since the early 60's and had never been there until this past Sunday due to the travel needed to get there. It really is worth the trip.
What do you mean worth the trip??? You can't get thaya from heaya. Randy and I went 2 different ways. One on the way over and one on the way back. Both seem to be "around the barn, over the mountain and through the woods several times between Kent and the Interstate,
I really owe Randy for driving!
Ernie
