Great news, Craig! I'm glad Colin's transceiver is doing the job. The Massie station has been too long without a reliable working transceiver.
When I brought the Kenwood TS-430S transceiver to the Museum a year or so ago, I thought it would work out well. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. It did work well, but not all the time. I will need to bring it home and check it out.
Sorry I was unable to be at the Museum today. I have been fighting a problem with my car and was advised not to travel on the highway. Hope to be back soon.

Subject: [Thursday] PJ Station
Hello All,
Just wanted to share what happened at the Massie Station today:
Colin Leath kindly brought in a working transceiver to use in the PJ
Station. No sooner had we hooked up Colin's radio, we heard someone calling
CQ from Fredricksberg, VA. We scrambled a bit to find a working key so that
I could respond. We finally made the contact with "Brock", callsign AE4GM,
and he had a good signal on his end. I gave Brock a brief description of
where we were transmitting from and gave him our website information.
Colin mentioned the possibility of obtaining a special callsign for the PJ
Station (I had to use my own today) and getting things back in order so
that we can communicate by voice or Morse code, and be able to switch
easily.
A special callsign for the station would be meaningful for ham radio
operators who contact our station or transmit from our station, and should
be able to be customized to be significant to its history. I've already
submitted my request for the proper forms and for other information in that
regard from the ARRL.
Soon, all antennas will be functional and we will take a new photo of the
inside of the station for use on a new QSL card. These cards are still
important to many amateur radio operators as a souvenir (via mail) for
contacting the station.
Things are moving forward!
Craig
