Hey All,
Finally a good day!!! We were all happy to see the sun on Thursday All the doors were opened and we let the fresh warm air circulate through the buildings. Along with the fresh air we also had a few visitors who promised to return at Steam Up to see the engines run. We had both radio and steam enthusiasts and all were given tours by the appropriate people for their interests.
In the meantime work was also accomplished. The compressor has been temporarily stored in the shop and it was a surprise to see it there in the morning. The leaning of the shop was finished and the vent on the roof of the Steam Bld'g was repaired. Ernie and Don worked in re piping for the small engine between the Corliss and the Harris engines. The battery was replaced for the John Deere tractor along with a new cable end.....now we can hook up the trailer to gather the cut wood by the front gate and the wood near the Buffalo Springfield and bring it to the woodpile.for splitting and stacking. The sorting of the pictures was finished. We will scan them into a computer and arrange them by subject for display as a slide show. The new coffee pot has been assembled in the kitchen and only needs a few fittings before we can have morning coffee.
We had a contractor stop by to look at the roofs of the buildings towards replacements ....we'll see how that works out with the Champlin Foundation.
Craig and Colin worked on the transmitter for the Masse station and also received signals from a ham in Virginia?.We hope to get our own call sign for the station. Craig is working on that.
I hope I didn't leave anything out that was accomplished.
Our thanks to all who participated Thursday.
LOU
