Besides the info my friend KA1RM. Karl. has found from the AWA. On The
Northern Electric Company (Northern Radio) I went ahead and did some
research on AMRAD. (American Radio Research company, which was founded by a
Tufts Graduate and where all the info on this company is in the Tufts
University Archives. This is on the Navy early wireless radio we uncovered
and forward that to the list on a separate email.

See.

Thanks, am checking them out now. Also AWA Vol 13 has a good article on the
history of Northern Electric. Note I have included this and also a
complete index of all AWA Reviews (Vol1-34). Worth perusing at the bottom
of this email !

The bad news on this radio is that it is a non standard home made cabinet.
I have found that this is a rather common occurrence in this time period
(1920's ). This is mostly because during this period the cabinet in most
cases cost more than the radio. So those skilled in cabinetry would buy a
chassis complete and build their own cabinet to suit their needs. This is
nce example of an early superheterodyne using peanut tubes (which are very
difficult to get. (it looks like if we want to get this radio playing we
will need at least one.
