There are two features on the museum website that might interest you. Both
are works in progress--anyone who wants to add to them is welcome.
Collections inventory
Tim, Ken, Len and I have been adding to an inventory database of the
collections that Mike Thompson started long ago. All of the buildings,
steam engines, models and related items are included. We're well started on
the wireless collections but there is more to do to complete this database.
Each item has a page--all have photos, some have additional information,
historical descriptions and more. https://newsm.org/collections/
Stories
We have a database of stories, too. Many are about historical topics
(buildings, manufacturers, people, steam engines, wireless), others are
about more recent events at the museum (visitors, events, projects). We've
always intended to add educational materials, too. If you're interested in
writing about any subject relevant to the museum, this is the place to make
it available on the web.
