Forgot to mention:

On the interviews with elderly be SURE to watch at around the 12 and a half minute mark... a real Rhode Islander - train engineer - born in 1959 in Valley Falls! he is standing before a steaming loco with his engineer duds on... working hard at age 70

After watching Empire of the Air, went looking on youtube for footage of the past, when steam engines were in full swing and radio was just starting... found these very good ones, enjoy:

1911 - A Trip Through New York City (speed corrected w/ added sound)
Old film of New York City in the year 1911. Print has survived in mint condition. Slowed down footage to a natural rate and added in sound for ambiance. This film was taken by the Swedish company Svenska Biografteatern on a trip to America
