Regarding the Seaport for the weekend, I think it went pretty well. We
had a good amount of interest in the Shipman engine. It ran beautifully
for the majority of the two days. Some of the Seaport organization team
were particularly interested as they had never heard of the Shipman, and
were glad to see something new, and have to do a bit of research on it
themselves. It was unfortunate that it rained so much on Saturday, but
Sunday was very nice. Scott and his team were nice enough to put the
engine under a tent between their water pumping engine and the steering
gear. The tent was great for staying out of the rain, but I also think
people thought it was off limits and were sometimes hesitant to come into
the tent. I took a pile of flyers and put them on the model table inside
for people to grab as well as handing them out outside. All in all I think
it was a great weekend, and has me thinking about what more we could do for
outreach.
