Ok I have been wondering this for a while and some recent research has “sparked” my interest again, no pun intended.
First there was the Fessenden broadcast on Christmas Eve, 1906 on Brant Rock MA.
Then there is this (attached) description of an experiment done from the top of the Fairmont Hotel in CA, picked up by a young ships radio operator born in Rhode Island.
Both were transmitted through a arc transmitter.
Could we do it through the Massie Spark Transmitter?
How was this done? How did they input the sound in to the transmitter?
This may be a good discussion at one of the Wednesday talks this summer!
