[Thursday] Fwd: Steam up wrap up

Just to put an additional point on Randy's comments, this Steam-Up hit the
record books for revenue as well. I think it was a combination of good
weather, attendance and raising food prices.

The gate revenue was very close to $14,000 and food and T-Shirts an
additional $5,200. We almost broke $20,000 before expenses!

A phenomenal effort by everyone made this seem like the smoothest steam-up
of the 25 I have attended. Many visitors commented on the energy and
enthusiasm of the volunteers apparent in the refreshed displays, lectures,
and new food items. The rain cover turned out to be an excellent sunshade
as and added a cathedral like atmosphere.

We definitely hit the limit on the parking and should consider doing some
clearing in the Race Track field to provide some overflow spaces. Reports
came in that cars were lined up down Frenchtown road across Tillinghast. We
definitely want to avoid having to pay the OT rate of a traffic cop in the
future.

Thanks to every volunteer that made this Steam-Up one of the best.
