The Yankee Steam-Up, held annually on a Saturday in the fall, is the museum’s major event. The museum’s steam engines run, the sparks fly, there is food, and steam fills the fall air. Exhibitors bring steam and gas engines, old autos, Stanley Steamers, motorcycles, odd self-powered machines & launches, and wide variety of engineering models. An excellent family event.
The museum’s traditional Carol Sing takes place on a Sunday in December in the 1822 Meeting House. All present sing, with the support of the organ. Afterward, there are cookies and punch. A holiday tradition.
Other times by appointment
Museum visits may be arranged for Thursdays between 9 am & 12 noon. The New England Wireless and Steam Museum is entirely volunteer and therefore our efforts are mainly directed to hosting scheduled groups such as school classes, engineering societies, club or association meetings. We do not have the staff to handle walk-in visitors except by prior arrangement. Please contact us to make an appointment. Contact us →
